Hello there, I wonder if anyone out there has any practical experience with insultating paints on interior walls. As far as I know, there are 3 types: thermilate which you add to the paint yourself, theres "Warmcoat Paint" by the same company (is it "ready" mix normal paint with thermilate ??), and then Ecos Organic Paints also do a insulating wallpaint. Any comments most welcome. Thanks.

Basically it has a modest effect.

Beware the building regs though. These days if you upgrade more than 25% of wall insulation (eg by rendering the outside or presumably painting the inside with thermal paint) you may have notify building Control and do enough to meet the building regs. Thermal paint is very unlikely to be sufficient unless you are already very close to meeting the regs.

I think that they probably work on a similar basis to the way that this product is supposed to work (though probably not as well).

Most of them quote NASA but if you give NASA a call (which you can) they'll tell you that they spend a lot of time suing people for misinformation!
