    Energy companies are now charging for connection quotations :(

    This would seem to be the end of the road for community PV

    They are obviously fed up with giving quotes that go nowhere. I doubt that it would put off serious contenders. It will just mean that the 'what ifs' will use ball park figures to see if the project has any chance to fly and only later in the process when funding is more secure will quotes (not estimates) be requested.

    Is that for large installations or for domestic stuff i.e. 16A connection.

    You don't need a quotation for connecting up to 16 A domestically.

    This is part of the point, almost seems to be a secret, the first I heard about was after it came in

    Anything over 200 amps... or 50,000 watts/50 kW

    Fair enough charging imo, it takes work to prepare quotes/check details... And thats not a small install!
    What I would give to have room for 10kW, let alone 50!

    Domestic connections are at LV, not HV or EHV.
