I figure this is the quickest way to determine what I need to concentrate on. I have a 1920s house and live in Bournemouth

    Thanks!

You can hire one yourself. Or search local transition and council groups to hire one (sometimes for free).

They aren't even that expensive to purchase anymore for a basic model, which does the job (FLiR one, Seek Thermal).
  1.
And, wait until its really cold when the temperature differential is large between the inside and outside before hiring one, as you will see a lot more. Rain, direct sun on brickwork and strong wind also mess up external thermography. Internal themography is typically more diagnostic and not so weather dependent, but I would still aim for a 15C minimum difference between inside and outside temperatures.

I 'hired' a Flikr from the local council. Most local councils will have one and the hire fee (£150) is refundable.

Best to wait until winter as the results will be better and more obvious.
