Anyone know anything about them? This is the brand that the installer today suggested - he said they were lower price on account of Indian manufacturers trying to break into UK markets. I guess I should wait and see the quote. Shipping solar panels half way round the world is probably not ideal.

JT - the panels are fine.

We've installed dozens of them without any problems and on the whole they are higher efficiency than the other polycrystalline panels. Yields are high per kWp and per £ spent.

Moser Baer manufacture about 25% of the world's digital recording discs and although this doesn't mean a thing when talking of solar they are very substantial.

according to my supplier, only the 225wp panels are currently MCs certified, but as long as they spec these panels they're fine - I'm now speccing these panels for installs where the 225wp is the best panel option

Having just had some 230's as part of an MCS install I did a double take there!
A quick check of the MCS website found these model numbers:

    MBPV CAAP 180,185,190,195,200,205,210,215,220,225,230,235,240

The panels were installed at the start of September. Our PVGIS estimate (just using the default setting for losses) is 1.82 kWh/kWp/day average for September. Actual to 27th is 2.01 (today is not going to improve that average!). The peak output noted by the inverter was ~ 110% of spec (I think this was a patch of really bright sunshine at the optimum angle just after the panels had had a 'cold shower').

Always nice to exceed spec, however briefly!

    oh.

sorry about the moment of panic there, I shall have to go and have words with my supplier being as that info was about 3 days old from them. I guess they must have not checked recently or something.
