    I have recently discovered that places of worship are exempt from part L !!!

    I cannot understand why this should be -- why should it be allowable for such places to waste huge amounts of energy?

    They're hardly ever occupied so the heat loss is actually pretty tiny. Focus on the big picture stuff Tony!

    Quite so - they should do a deal with the devil, who not only has the best tunes but plenty of heat to spare. Or so I'm told.

    If a place of worship is also used for other things - meetings, fetes, knitting & jam sales, whatever - does it still have exemption?
