One of my neighbours is moving house and he keeps throwing stuff in his skip, only for me to get it out again just as quick. I have now got a biscuit tin full of 'panels screws' but I don't know what they are used for. I want to know whether they are likely to come in useful or whether I should put them on Freecycle. Can anyone help please?

What do they look like? Try using google images to find one that looks similar and post a link to the image.

Still time to introduce your neighbour to the wonders of Freegle/Freecycle directly? You may be spreading a little goodness to his new neighbourhood too if so!

They are most likely some type of carcase assembly screw. There are numerous variations of similar things, some have a deep single thread for chipboard and the like, some are a two part assembly which locks into a second "cam nut" device, metal or nylon, inserted at right angles into a second piece of timber. The two parts are then placed together and the screw tightened pulling the two bits together. They are unlikely to be of any use, probably best to dispose of in your metal recycling bin.

They look like the sort of screws used to hold electrical equipment panels together. If you have lots I'd check the thread size using a nut and measure the length from the point to the underside of the head and put them up on ebay like this..
