    Hmm, I was just looking at https://www.planningportal.co.uk/info/200130/common_projects/18/external_walls/2 and I noticed something I thought was a little odd.

    Towards the bottom under Further Information there is text that appears to be a normal part of the content and is not marked as an advert but contains a link to a commercial third-party service. And only to that company, not to any competitors it may have.

    Now I know that planningportal.co.uk is not a gov.uk site, but it is a joint venture with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. I'd expect it's content to be fair and objective, not commercially biased, except perhaps in clearly marked advertisements.

    Is it just me or is this unreasonable? :shocked:

    Possibly equally importantly the advice re when L1B kicks in is misleading and in conflict with the current approved doc. See s.5.8 and 5.8A.

    Yes, I worry too about 'adverts'. I wonder why the advert above the bit you've referenced was clearly labelled and the Build Aviator one wasn't?

    planningportal is a commercial enterprise, it was privatised - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planning_Portal

    I've no idea about any kind of restrictions on what content they can have, e.g. paid for content.
