    Looking to add some basic mouldings as panelling to the walls.

    Are there any standard measurements or general spacing rules to follow? Or just all by eye?

    Rule of thirds. Avoid them looking top heavy i.e more space at top than bottom. If it look right it is right. Have a look at some photos on the internet. Companies that sell plaster mouldings would be a good start.

    Tony,do you mean the golden ratio? That's how i worked out my fixed light/opener ratio for my new windows and I rather like it.
