    Has anyone on here experience of the Extraflame pellet boilers (probably the 14 or 20kW models)? Approximate costs (kit only, and installed), reliability, are they fully modulating, did you fit an accumulator, if not does the 'fully modulating' really work... Etc etc. Comments gratefully received.

    Hi

    As a first time user, I was interested to see that you were considering installing an Extraflame pellet boiler in 2011. I have such a boiler, instaled in 2013, and although you must surely by now have made a decision, I would like to know how you got on.

    Did you choose an Extraflame or opt for another make?

    Have you found it reliable? To use these boilers seems to me to opt for a certain way of life rather than a mere choice of heating.

    Hi,

    Gosh! I had forgotten I'd ever posted this. It was for a client, not for me, and I cannot even remember which one. I think it safe to say it never got past the 'thinking about it' stage.

    Hi,

    I've just started using my Extraflame 14kw Melinda, after a long wait while our previous house sold.
    First impressions are that it is noisier than I'd remembered, we've had it running on it's lowest setting since bringing our barn conversion up to 18C.
    In our last house we had been running a pellet boiler since Jan 2008, hidden away in the cellar. This new machine
    sits proudly in the lounge, in the middle of the house, hence the noise issue.
    I had hoped it would be a bit cleaner to empty the ash or clean the glass, but its just like any other log burner in that respect.

    I used to know a girl called Melinda. She was hot but I don't know about 14 kW... :shocked:
