    So some people here mentioned risk from nuclear power stations is relatively low. What's the current situation at Fukushima.
    Risk of ground water contamination. Fishing in the area currently banned.
    Is this plant and the surrounding countryside currently or going to be a no go area for some time into the future?

    Are these clean up cost factored in when people talk about the cost of nuclear generation ?

    I think that decommissioning costs are included in the price (part of the reason that EDF want a higher unit price).
    I also think that over all the environmental costs from nuclear are lower than for coal fired. But then we do not factor in those prices properly yet.
    There was a bit in the news recently about dumping the waste at sea, but not read any more about it.
    Not had much of a chance to keep up on that side of the news this summer.
