Looks the opposite to me. For example around here Bristol is shown as most in favour, Bath slightly less and the rural and generally most affluent surroundings least of all. The area around Swanage even less.

Research has shown that opposition to climate science and efforts to prevent climate change are strongly linked to ideology with those generally opposed to government intervention taking that as their starting point and from that rejecting the science etc rather than modifying their ideology to accommodate reality. Think the Heartland Institute and Tea Partiers in America and UKIP with their Lord Monckton here. It's generally a more affluent, older demographic.

Wealthy people of working age tend to like the green thing, but don't actually do anything about it.
The research I referred to is about wealthier communities liking to protect the environment. There is also the affects of local education, Bristol has a lot of that, as does Penwith. So does Scotland and Wales. Then are are local ecological issues, such as GM crop trials that sway people's views (not that we have had any for a while).
