What mineral adhesive do you recommend for fixings external wall insulation such as EPS?
  1.
I use Webber LAC in conjunction with 2 mech. fixings per board for fixing boards and mesh coat.
Not tried other similar brands, but presume they're much of a muchness, other than the lime/vapour open premium systems

think I paid about £18 last time , which I thought was a bit pricey , not sure though. was about a year and half ago. Might have dropped due to higher demand ?
PBonline seem good price kit, do Baumit duo, opencontact and MC55W etc.
    Baumit all from Germany ??
I Should really find out where Weber LAC is made , as transport make a difference to EROEI etc.

I've just used Soudall Fixall (PU foam) http://www.arco.co.uk/products/4482400 together with mechanical fixings. Very sticky stuff, have had it stuck to my finger nails for over a month (it's slowly growing out). Hope it's as good on walls. A can goes a long way.

Ugh, am I being stupid or is it very difficult to find English information on Baumit products? Trying to find specific info on StarContact, DuoContact and OpenContact adhesive/base coats.
  3.
I googled around about a year ago and found little. I've a good product range brochure 2010 , got it from NBT
doesn't have what your after in it. I wonder if they've renamed some of their bagged products to jazz them up a bit . MC55W I believe was designed for EPS EWI mineral adhesive and mesh render coat . try pb see if they've got any tech. spec. info on pdf

I presume DuoContact is suitable for below ground use? We don't need a separate product like you do when you're using an adhesive/basecoat with lime in it right?
  4.
For fixing boards or mesh coat . below gnd.
some systems offer special solution, renders etc.
I've used standard adhvesive for bonding boards but left off mesh coat (laid slab up against to rodent proof) below gnd. .

Bit worried about buying this Baumit stuff of PBonline. Can't figure out how much I need, can't find any English instructions and can't get hold of PBonline by phone.

That said it's a good price though.

I always use a bit more than quoted.
