    I have a 10kW solar PV system and export around 71% of my generation to the grid. At the same time I'm running a 3 phase GSHP feeding a buffer cylinder and hot water tank. To extend the life of my heat pump, I want to make better use of my solar PV and am looking at installing some sort of optimisation system.

    I'm quite keen on the Apollo Gem which I hear good things about. Unfortunately I'll need 3 of these (1 for each phase) and each independently feeding an immersion on one of the 2 tanks. Including the immersions and other bits and pieces, I think I'm looking at around £1,000 all in. Worth it?

    Does anyone have any experience of the gem or other products?

    What does the meter do if you use 9kw on one phase, but expert 3kw on each of the other two phase?

    How many kw does your heat pump take on it's lowest setting?

    Thanks for the comments. I wouldn't have a clue where to start with the raspberry pi tbh, and not sure I understand the 2nd question. The heat pump basically is on or off. It doesn't have settings. Think it's anout 4.5kW IT takes though. And I'll check out the other link thanks.
