Does anybody have a schedule of the minimum comnpliant U values applicable ove the last 30 year period. I would like to know what the u values were in say 1975. It would be good to see how they have changes over this perios for walls, roofs, floors, windows, etc,

Yes, I had reason to research this some time ago. The latest revision is more complex as Part L is now split into four sub-sections.

No probs, here's one for the latest Part L1B. Though you'll have to buy a copy of The Green Building Bible [Vol 1] for the accompanying explanation:wink:

Thanks ST! I do have Word, in ancient and modern versions, but it gives me the message 'Word cannot start the converter mswrd632', then gobbledegook!

Having Word doesn't help, I'm also getting the message that it can't "convert" the document into plain English.

Download the Word Viewer (better version of the built into Windows Word Pad) or a copy of Open Office. Open Office seems to open just about anything.

So about a 60% improvement on walls and roofs/ceilings.

It's a 'CDF v2' (compound document file) file, according to 'file'. It opens OK in openoffice v3.2 and Abiword v2.8.2. (both freely available for Linux and Windows and other OSes).
