Ive researched thoroughly Fakro v velux for triple glazed passive house rooflights and there are good threads on the forum.

Has anyone experience of ROTO they look ok and have been used on the continent for ages?

Interested to know what you've found for these. From my initial looks it seems like triple glazed without vents is regarded as a bit of a niche and it's a bit of a struggle to get details.

Their insulated flat roof roof lights are as good as anything else on the market and reasonably priced (considering). They also do a PassivHaus certified product, but the cost is eye watering.....

I noticed an interesting looking new 3g Fakro flat-roof roof-light at Ecobuild, with a good insulated upstand. Didn't get to chat to anyone about it, as I scarpered off to a seminar.

See from AECB forum you've been on with your project since 2010 - about as long as mine! Have you come to a conclusion on sliding folding doors. I have had quotes around £10k for 3 panels timber/aluminium - about the same as a new VW up!!! No technology comparison there. Thinking sliding doors best but hard to get same opening with 3 panes ie 3 sliding and probably end up about same price unless you go with door unit. Which flat rooflight have you gone for. I have detailed a fixed flat one if your interested but not got costs yet.

my history on this forum and elsewhere is misleading - we've been working on a project on this site for a lot longer than that, but it only turned into a contemporary "green" build about 3 years ago, which is when I started to become active.

I haven't been so active the last few months as we've been preparing to move house and get going on the project and haven't had a lot of time left over. We're starting to face some tricky areas in the detail design so I may well be posting for some more advice/discussion soon.

We're going for Solarlux SL97 folding sliding doors. They seem to be about as good as it gets, although are more expensive than most that I looked at. I don't know the sizes for your windows, but ours are 2.7m wide by 2.09m high in three panels, with 46mm 3G argon fill and come out at around £7k (exc. VAT) for a set. You're price either seems excessive or you have very big windows.

I think that by the time I've done my home automation I'll be looking for a well designed rest! The Loxone system looks really good, and programming isn't that hard, especially if you have any kind of logical/engineering background. I'd be more than happy to share ideas and help solve problems though if you need.
