Has anyone experienced problems with trying to decipher operating manuals for biomass boilers especially those manufactured in Austria or German?

I am in dispute with my installer over the fact that the manual supplied for my boiler is not in plain english as required by the Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC). It is a poor translation from German and the grammar is appalling.

Would be interested to other's experiences

Your in dispute over grammar :shamed:

If poor translation or grammar has caused irreparable damage to an expensive boiler I reckon you have a good case, if it is frustrating, annoying, a downright pain in the **** etc. etc. then welcome to the modern world!

I have an Austrian boiler and was reduced to tears.. mostly of laughter, when trying to follow the commissioning instructions. In the end I found it easier to follow the German text rather than the English- despite having no prior knowledge of German whatsoever (well almost).

In all seriousness though, it is remarkable how often even basic instructions are translated so as to be ambiguous and confusing. If you have a particular phrase or paragraph in mind I am sure you will be rewarded by posting it on the forum rather than chasing an MCS biomass installer.. who might just be under a bit of pressure at the moment

If instructions were available online, that would be a good start.

Yesterday I started commissioning a Vigas 25 and will have to ring the supplier to explain things like " Scheme is dedicated to central heating systems, where reverse water protection provides external control system"

I have a Danish wood pellet boiler. Under fault finding, if there is no air flow from the electrical igniter to the burner pipe then I am to clean the holes in the herd apparently!
