Hi, I know a few on here have installed Berbel hoods. We're also looking to but as there appears to be no UK supplier anymore, can anyone share who they bought theirs from before I start emailing various German online retailers in hope?

one problem you will have - if you order from abroad - is what happens to after sales / guarantee service support e.g.filters. Getting the unit carried in should be no problem but spares and filters, if they are individual and not washable or a standard size will be a pain

I remember the pre-EU (EEA) days, buying stuff from Belgium where the goods would (could) only be shipped via a customs agent who could complete all the paper work (at a cost) and the goods would spent about 3 weeks in transit through customs with agents both sides of the channel and there was no DIY option.

Its on the cards that this would happen again if the no deal, walk away Brexiteers get their way. What a retrograde step that would be for everyone.

In the absence of any deal and a walk away UK then not only would there be no deal between the UK and the EU but there would also be no deal between the UK and the US.
There would need to be deals between the UK and every country that the UK trades with via EU deals as well as between the UK and the EU. At the moment there seems to be a total inability to come up with any sort of deal about the citizen rights or liability of funding etc. before any start on trade issues. IMO it's not looking good for any sort of settlement by 2019

No it's not, where do you get that idea. The world's moved on since the 60s Peter.
I buy stuff from the US, that's already duty and VAT sorted, and with Fed Ex it can take as little as 3 days..... I've also bought occasional stuff from China and Hong Kong with quick turnaround, small items admittedly, absolutely no problems. Like I said the worlds moved on.

Hmm. Most of the places I've ordered stuff from outside the UK have been picked up for duty and VAT (which isn't in itself an issue) but the 'admin charge' from the carrier usually a fixed price of £8-15 (which has been as much as the VAT charge on some packages) and the interruption adds a few days.

As with everything else about leaving the EU I've yet to see anyone make an even vaguely convincing case of how things are going to be better after we leave.

I went to a supposed London "stockist" and they didn't even have any on show. Give someone a call in the UK and see what response you get.
