I'm looking at the various basement construction methods and someone on here mentioned the use of Stepoc blocks, these are dry stack concrete blocks which are then filled with concrete. I've looked at the web site http://www.andertonconcrete.co.uk/websitecontent/stepoc.aspx but it's a little light on details.

So if you have used them, what is the typical wall cross section, where did you put your insulation (type) and how did you waterproof the basement wall?

The hollow core is filled with concrete, similar to ICF.

How durable are the finishes that are used once they are built?

The finishes are durable, as with everything the long term durability will depend on how well executed the work is and the detailing around the work. strip foundations, drainage behind the wall, quality of the concrete pour, etc etc

Interesting academic simulation, all bound to leak, ideally basements do not need be holding back ground water pressure, don't build them if this is the case and if you are that insane fit a sump with a pump!

My basement will never be wet or damp apart from plumbing problems but it has no dpm, no tanking.
