Fermacell offer advice on FST and also skimming.

Is there a reason why it can't take a 'normal' plaster, possibly with a binder layer? I would like to increase the internal aerial heat capacity (the build is in Portugal) and a plaster layer or (better) lime or clay would make it easier to justify a low mass wall structure.

    Has anyone tried?

    I value the racking strength.

plaster: after 6 months and 4-6mm normal paster layer

clay : we put 50mm of clay over a mix of cleaned down brick, marine ply and plaster board.
Maybe this will help : http://www.tierrafino.com/pdf/Tierrafino%20Base%20TDS.pdf

I doubt there's a reason, but have you asked them? I suspect that they don't push the possibility because one way they justify the higher price is by the elimination of the need to plaster.

You might want a mechanical key, especially for clay as that Tierrafino data sheet mentions.
