    Perhaps we should all shower with a friend. Makes a change from being asked to bathe with a friend :-)

    £850 is for the printed version, I guess. I have downloaded the PDF for free, all 5.7Mb of it.

    All those involved with the compliance with the Freedom of Information Act do their best to encourage electronic versions of information for distribution. Keeps the costs down. Unless you wish to hide things, then you use the Yes Minoster technique.

    The DEFRA site would not let me download it this morning, so I called up EST and asked if they had a link and they just pointed me to the one above.
    I get:
    "We are very sorry but there was a problem obtaining document 10043_R66141HouseholdElectricitySurveyFinalReportissue4.pdf?time=0 from the database. The systems administrator has been notified of this problem.":devil:

    Odd! I've just successfully accessed that document (3.45pm).

    Possible problem your end?

    Is that the DEFRA document or the EST one. I got the EST one no problem.
    Shall try with Chrome rather than Firefox.

    Ah, it is a Firefox issue, downloading now.

    £68M/year wasted on overfilling kettles. About a pound a person.

    I always thought this was a non-problem and here is the evidence.

    Haven't read the report but with kettles do they take into account the heating benefit for a substantial portion of the year?

    Indeed, but it's fun to point ways in which it's actually an even smaller saving.

    I save a lot of time only filling it up for my needs, and less noise (I work at home in the kitchen).
