    What sort of screws should I use to make a fixing to green oak, zinc plated seem to react in a corrosive manner. Many thanks

    Stainless steel is stronger, brass looks nicer, but you were meant to be putting that frame together with oak pegs :wink:

    Yes I am fixing the oak frame to itself with accacia pegs, but I am using screws to fix the green oak raftersto the existing old wall plate with slotted holes to allow for contraction.

    Accacia pegs seem to be the norm here in France.
