What sort of screws should I use to make a fixing to green oak, zinc plated seem to react in a corrosive manner. Many thanks

Stainless steel is stronger, brass looks nicer, but you were meant to be putting that frame together with oak pegs

Yes I am fixing the oak frame to itself with accacia pegs, but I am using screws to fix the green oak raftersto the existing old wall plate with slotted holes to allow for contraction.

Accacia? Even better, but harder to come by round here.

Accacia pegs seem to be the norm here in France.
